Yes! Although I've had CFS for 15 years, I got a severely chapped lower lip about 1 1/2 years ago after a period of extreme stress. Large portions peeled off every 1 1/2 to 2 days. I tried Burts Bees lipbalm (which is mostly beeswax and coconut oil), but it didn't make a difference. This was pre-Bee's program. After being on Bee's program for 2-3 months, I purchased a lip balm from Dr. Mercola (also primarily coconut oil) and have been using that daily. I've been on Bee's diet 6 months now and my chapping is 95% healed! The other day, though, I had bizarre, severe abdominal pain (for no reason I could figure out). I hoped it was a healing symptom or die-off. The next day, my chapped lip was worse again, though, nothing like it used to be. And the next day they were back to their " improved " status. If your experience is like mine, there's definitely hope. It's nice to have a soft lower lip again.
Guest guest
Yes I'm another who had this problem. Almost every day before starting the diet my lips would peel and also my top lip would be split every day. Both of these symptoms went away on the diet, in fact they were the first things to go. However if I do cheat even just with natural foods like fruit these symptoms sometimes come back for a few days. I'm sure that will not always be the case. I really do believe that any symptom that you have will go away if you are long enough on the diet. After all the diet is not just about Candida but also strengthening the immune system in general Cheers, Cara
Guest guest
Good to hear! Now I'm motivated to be more strict with the diet. Thanks, Chris
Guest guest
Wow! Thank heavens I'm not the only one with this problem. I thought it was severe dehydration, but drinking more water didn't help. I've tried everything...even straight vitamin E...but the bottom lip still peels off every day like a lizard. Yeesh. Thanks for the hope, gang.
Guest guest
No, you are not alone. My bottom lip tightens and cracks and then I have to peel it at least two or three times a day. I always thought I was severely dehydrated, too. I've had this for ages, and now that I know it's candida, I'm sure it will be a while before it goes away. > > Wow! Guest guest
andria, My lips started off peeling last Oct and from there got worse! I would wake up looking like Angelina Jolie..lol My friend would joke with me that people pay money to have their lips that big. It's to bad that it was painful! Treva Shay Spence From: andra <nocalc@...> Subject: [ ] peeling lips Date: Thursday, January 22, 2009, 2:20 PM I too have been having sort of peeling lips now for months. I attributed it to the dry air (winter here, central heating, etc), plus I used to always get horribly chapped lips in the winter, from my childhood. When I was young the bottom lip would usually 'crack' in the middle, and bleed, which was very painful and made it hard to talk and eat, never mind smile. I never thought this could be candida related. andra > Carmen, > > How are your lips being affected? > I went through a episode where my lips peeled, swelled and had white patches on the corners. The peeling and swelling have went away but the white little bumps haven't. The doctor said it was excemia. > > > Treva Shay Spence >
