Hi All,

I was in our files and maybe I didn't look hard enough for remedies,

but after reading my message maybe you can direct me or offer me

other suggestions. Here goes:

Was a bad teeth report yesterday from dentist when I was triggered

to get in because of constant on/off pain in one tooth that I was

numbing when the pain was too much. Well, the dental xrays which I

felt I needed due to the numerous ongoing problems I had for years

revealed:

need:

root canals

crowns

extractions

upper partial

lower partial

fillings

absesseS

not sure if I forgot anything, but get the picture " crisis " . Of

course hearing about 2 root canals at $1850 total or close to that,

was enough for me to not look at the rest of the bill. I am a

decision point....I am not in favor of root canals which I have had

several and most ended up coming out due to extractions (work I

believe was from my trip to MX for treatments near daughter's

house); then I had someone take off the metal crowns, and two of

these teeth are showing extractions without any options. He is

blaming my problems on lack of flossing as he said they are in

between teeth.

Over the years I have even given a fair amount of time to hydro

(water treatment flushing) too. I have been brushing teeth with my

homemade soap for long time. I wouldn't dare tell the dentist I use

soap on teeth. He said a few of my root canals were not

done " clean " meaning they were not done far enough up the nerve I

believe is description so infection has set in and I can't live with

infections forever.

So, now the picture is drawn. Any suggestions before I act as I am

planning on going to our local dental school, but they are closing

soon, then for an appointment I have to wait 1-6 months before they

say yes or no. I can go in however as emergency case, which they

only take 4 per day and not every day opened. Again, holiday is

here so they will be closing soon. I have some very deep cavaties

too. One tooth actually looks like it is falling out but it is the

large cavity.

I am not interested in dentures. I would do a phase plan regardless

of which way I went. The dentist agreed the dental school is great

and worth the savings. He was very honest. I don't feel taken at

all.

I will be visiting daughter in Dallas next month so thinking I could

possibly use the school down there during my short week stay, but at

least I can get some work done at this school, as emergency, and the

other place while there. I know I would be saving over $460 if I

decided on root canals.

At this point, I don't want to lose any more teeth then I have. He

would even build up some stubs I have on the top...the bottom backs

looks like they will be toothless on both sides of the mouth.

Any thoughts on using any solutiosn to help with these many

problems? Thanks for recomendations.

Oh, I have the xray pictures too.
