Guest guest
Eh...stupid question. I live in a foreign (a.k.a. backwards) country and can't seem to find VCO anywhere. However when I search the web I see some versions that are in solid form and some that are liquid. What is the right form for VCO...liquid or solid? I live in Sydney and did so, it comes in solid form but quickly melts when you use it for cooking. A scoop of it onto the hot pan and voilà...oil to cook with as any other.I forget the brand I have, but it is an extra virgin organic one. You can also use it on the body externally as well.I don't think it matters if it is solid or liquid.Maybe someone else may have more knowledge about this, but I am finding the solid form I recently purchased is fine. Guest guest
I bought something at a local alternative grocery store because I cannot find it at the numerous health food stores that abound over here. If I translate the label correctly, I bought the following: cocofat , pure plant fat, unharden I think cocofat and coconut oil are the same in Germany and pure can also translate into virgin. The product is a cube of very white tasteless coconut oil. Does this sound right. I have had one or two tablespoons of the stuff today and now I am soooooooo extremely irritable - could that be a response if the stuff I bought was not right? Does anyone out there know of any good Germany VCO sources? It seems everything I need for the candida diet - supplements, coconut oil, etc.. I have to have shipped in from another country because I can't find these thing here in Germany plus, on top of that many many companies will not even bother shipping to Germany because there are such a pain in the you-know-what at customs. You haven't said if you gradually increased your coconut oil to get to the amount you're taking or not, but I would suggest you decrease the amount you take and then verrrry slowly increase it, only adding 1 tsp. every four to five days. If you have problems again, scale back and increase slowly again. Coconut oil is an anti-fungal; anti-fungals cause die- off; die-off can cause irritability. I didn't notice irritability from an increase of CO--just the opposite. I feel better after my CO. But my husband (who is not following the diet yet) had one tsp. in a small egg drink a few weeks ago and kept complaining he felt 'wired and edgy.' Sounds like what you two have described. The good news is, you're on the right track. Just remember to go slowly. Hope that helps, Cathe

Since coconut oil is highly antifungal it is important to start with small amounts and gradually increase them to minimize reactions. Some people need to start with as little as 1/4 tsp. 3 times a day, and only increase it every 5 to 7 days. It is part of the healing process to experience emotional upheavals and changes since more toxins are circulating since the candida is being killed off, and this includes the brain. On this program you are basically detoxifying your body. You will find many changes, ups and downs, during healing. That means what you are doing is working. Guest guest
Cathe, Its good you said that because i was thinking that the VCO I bought was not up to snuff. I'm still not certain it is and have another one on the way just to be sure. But yeah, I get down right mean too! I need a padded cell! Guest guest
Ok Robin: me and you in that padded cell... kickboxing for " mean " release... hahahhaa I'm definitely lowering the dose of coconut oil. I'll restart with 1 tsp per day. I did increase slowly when I introduced the VCO, from 1tsp to 1tbsp to 2tbsp... I thought it was the oil of oregano's " fault " so I decreased that, but being away for 2 days and not taking VCO told me who the culptrit is Thank you Cathe. Thank you Bee. > > Cathe, > > Its good you said that because i was thinking that the VCO I bought > was not up to snuff. I'm still not certain it is and have another one > on the way just to be sure. Guest guest
Hey - yeah, I really feel sorry for people who cross my path during one of my mean moments. I've gone from a fairly quiet, easy-going type to someone who can verbally ripe someone a new you-know-what at the drop of a dime. The down side to this is often it's my own family that have to experience the full brunt of my meanness. However, on a good day I can find some unsuspecting stranger to let go some of my abuse. The really sad part is that even thought I sound like I'm joking...I'm not, it's my reality. Anyway, how long until I start seeing this go away? I never know what kind of person I'm going to be at any given moment or what kind of symptoms I will have from day to day. I'm not necessarily just 'going off' although at the moment it seems and feels like it. I got angry with a dr the other day. I had taken one of my sons to him for a referral to a psychiatrist and so I could get some kind of resource information for dealing with my kids. I explained to him that I'm weaning my kids from their meds and all they do is fight. He says to me, with a quizzical look on his face, " So you're looking for a support group for parents of kids who argue? " (which makes me sound like a total idiot) I wanted to slap him. I got angry, tried to get my point across, keeping my anger in check. But my eyes got big and my face may have been flushed. " I'm feeling a little attacked, " he says to me. Whatever. It wasn't until I was recounting the story to my husband later that I remembered that the dr had first MOCKED me, and THAT was why I had gotten angry. But this was a new thing for me. I was sticking up for myself instead of inernalizing the anger. I have done this now three times in the last few weeks. I come from an abusive childhood, an abusive first marriage and a whole lot of dysfunction. So for me to stick up for myself, however imperfectly, is HUGE. I'm hoping this is a sign of things to come, of emotional healing along with the physical healing. Cathe

Recovery time varies from person to person depending upon how long they've had candida, how much damage was done, what kinds of malfunctions they have, what level of " nutritional status " they acquired from their parents on conception, if there are still unavoidable toxins around, etc., etc. You will find your good days increasing, when you aren't getting uncontrollable anger, and your bad days decreasing as you progress on the program. Retracing the body will go through will also bring up emotional aspects of any incidences during injury, disease, illness, pain, losses, etc. as well. Hang in there and keep on keeping on! Guest guest
since i've decreased my VCO to 1 tsp in the evening the anger got much better and more controllable; oil of oregano is 7 drops in the evening and i also take pau d'arco 1000mg twice daily plus the tea... i'd rather not deal with ugly VCO anger if other antifungals are doing the job. i've been meditating for the past 7 years with great progress so having this ugly anger coming in makes me feel like i'm regressing from my spiritual growth so i'm going for smaller anger dose which i can release via meditation and visualization. carmen > > > > > Hey - yeah, I really feel sorry for people who cross my path during > > one of my mean moments. Bee recommends we add another antifungal (oil of oregano) after we're up to 5-6 Tbsp. of VCO a day. Maybe that's what caused your problems. Too much oil of oregano and not enough VCO. Could that be it? Cathe

Could that be it? ==>Hi Cathe, you are on the right track. What is happening is that taking too much antifungal (CO and oil of oregano combination) too early kills off high numbers of candida at one time, which results in more toxins and more die-off symptoms. It is better to take it easy and not push the body too much. Besides the fact that antifungals are not nearly as important as nutrients. Guest guest
Cathe, you're right but i was taking oil of oregano before i learned about Bee's diet; i was also taking threelac and had major die-off from that but not this anger/mean! i stopped the threelac; i'd rather not stop the oil of oregano! the anger/mean came with vco... i can deal with die-off but not with this anger/mean -i get to hurt people around me -that is not right! carmen > > > > Hi Carmen, > > > > How much VCO do you take in a day--just the one tsp?
