Guest guest
Hi Rach, Actually, the meringues did not turn out very good. Since I'm new to all of this and feel like I'm hungry all of the time, I wanted something " snack-foodish " using simple ingredients that I already had. (I have not had time to study & shop for the snack food recipes on Bee's website, and I don't really know how to cook and throw the right ingredients together.) I just whipped up egg whites and added stevia, put spoonfuls on one baking sheet coated w/butter and the other baking sheet coated w/coconut oil (to see if this added any flavor - couldn't really tell the difference), then put in 200 degree oven for about an hour until they got crisp. The meringues turned out looking like fluffy potato chips with a sweet " eggy " flavor - kind of blah but crunchy. I'm going to see if it's possible to improve on this by adding some lemon or lime juice or cinnamon. But the whole attempt may turn out to be a " flop. " I think most meringues need cream of tartar and real sugar to bake nicely. Does anyone know if cream of tartar is allowed on the candida diet or have any suggestions for making tasty meringues or any other candida-safe desserts? Thanks, [ ] Re: Are mini meringues OK on candida diet? Hi Cathe omg - what a great idea. I'm so glad you shared. I am looking forward to trying this, but can you give me a bit of instruction? Thanks so much. Rach
