I've been using Tropical Traditons VCO for about 6mos now in my cooking, esp. for breakfast eggs, bacon, fries, and have not had the taste of coconut! My wife enjoys cooking with it also beside olive oil. " different strokes " : )

Guest guest
For myself, I cook with it, eat it by itself. I love it on toast with very little butter, most coconut oil. thanks > > > Can coconut oil be taken by capsules instead of > > using the oil? Guest guest
You are very correct! There are so many different kinds of coconut oil around. and Yes! a lot of them do not have the coconut flavor. From observation, home made (heat extracted) coconut oil is darker than vco and im very much sure that it retains the coconut flavor. redPanda17 --- PanAmPete@... wrote: > Hey red! > I've been using Tropical Traditons VCO for about > 6mos now > in my cooking, esp. for breakfast eggs, bacon, > fries, and have not had the > taste of coconut! Guest guest
1 capsule is generally about 500 mg. To get 2 tablespoons of coconut oil by capsule one would need to take about 30 capsules every day. That is expensive, and it is a lot of capsules to swallow. Far easier to use one of the coconut oils which has little or no flavor. Iike highly flavored coconut oil, so I can't suggest which oil would have the least flavor. Guest guest
When a VCO brand has a flavor, it's no longer virgin. --- Alobar <Alobar@...> wrote: > 1 capsule is generally about 500 mg. Guest guest
All the VCOs i have tried have a strong to mild coconut flavor. That is normal. Guest guest
Hi Bee and group, Just wanted to let you know that there are in fact virgin coconut oil capsules. I saw them at our local health food store. They were marketed as a weight loss supplement. But I believe they had soy or some other undesirable ingredient in them. Also, one would have to take practically the whole bottle of capsules to get up to the 5-6 Tbsp. per day that you recommend. So, obviously buying VCO this way does not make sense for this program:) Thanks for all you do, Rhian > Do you mean coconut oil capsules; there isn't such a thing. > > The best, Bee >

Such a small amount of CO without other " good " fats, omega 3, vitamins A, D & E, minerals, etc. isn't going to create weight loss miracles for anyone. But maybe it is okay for some people to take capsules since the antifungal/healing effects won't be as severe. You are so very welcome for all I do! It's an honor to me. The best, Bee
