, I understand how awful disfiguring acne and scars can be. I

got into trouble when I was 32 years old because of acne, and took

tetracyline for it. What a mistake that was!

It can be safe to take progesterone only if you get tested regularly

like Dr. Mercola recommends. As far as your acne is concerned, your

body will need to undo all of the damage done by resufacing your

skin, so it will take time. Unfortunately the symptoms will get worse

before they get better as the body detoxifies and starts to rebuild

the area. Also the body heals from the inside out, because vital

inner organs are more important than the skin.

Have you tried applying cod liver oil to your acne yet? It has been

known to help. Vitamin A in particular has been known to heal

without scaring too. My girlfriend's daughter got bitten by a dog

when she was 5 years old. After stitching her up the wounds became

terribly inflamed and infected so they had to remove the stitches and

draine them. Her doctor was holistic so she had her apply vitamin A

oil several times a day. Her wounds healed and didn't leave any

scars at all. Her daughter was a model so that was a God send! Let

me know if you decide to try it, and the outcome.

The best, Bee

I've had bad cystic acne also. Have you researched Niacin or

spironolactone? Spironolactone may help if your androgen production

is high. My derm prescribed both with Retin-a which is pretty harsh &

drying at first. Good Luck

Hi there. Please don't recommend drugs on my group my friend. See the

Group's Rules & Guidelines, in the Files (left menu) inside the

Folder " Candida Group Information. "

Thank you,

I have also had cyctic acne and it is clearing up now.  My doctor told me to

take 50,000 mg of vitamin A a day and it has worked!

+++Hi Rhonda. When you take high doses of vitamin A ensure you stop

taking it 2 days every month to allow the body to adjust itself. This

ensures you do not build up too much, since it is stored, and become

toxic. It shouldn't be taken forever either. If you are better, you

should cut back to 30,000 IU per day. Vitamin D also is needed (they

work together), along with other " good " fats and oils, omega 3, etc.

Thanks Bee and everybody for your advice.

I applied vitamin A directly to the worst group of cysts on my face,

covered it with a bandaid, and wore it most of the day yesterday.

It was quite soothing and the swelling seemed to go down a lot. The

top layer of skin had gotten tough & dried out from applying milk of

magnesia as my attempt to clear things up. Vitamin A helped sooth,

soften & reduce the swelling.

I will be ordering some cod liver oil & will try that, too.

Today I began taking the stronger progesterone prescribed for my

hormone imbalance. If that doesn't improve my acne (along with the

topical vitamin A), I will try increasing my vitamin A intake as

well with a 2 day break every month and continue with vitamin D, the

rest of my supplements, & good fats & oils!

Thanks so much for your help!
