Guest guest
A month or so ago when I asked for sample transition menus no one replied so I thought maybe I'd post mine since I feel it is a pretty important part of the plan. Well this far (after about two months of researching and reading group messages) it's what I've struggled with the most. If Bee or anyone else wants to chime in w/suggestions or advice, please feel free. I'm graduating the changes weekly and here are a few considerations to my specific situation. + Since recently I've had some more than usual " unpleasantness " with my digestive system and overall health, my thinking is to give it a little rest by limiting my diet somewhat while also starting to transition into Bee's Plan. + In order establish regularity and avoid possible hypoglycemic-like reactions, I have a set eating time line. 8-8:30am snack; 10-10:30am meal; 2-2:30pm meal; 4-4:30 snack; 6:30-7 meal. Week 1 + FOOD Protein: chicken, fish, & bacon. Carbs: zucchini, artichokes, squash, spinach, squash, onions. " Transition " carbs: carrots and/or potatoes (w/one meal) brown basmati rice (w/one meal) Fruits:strawberries, bananas, applesauce (twice daily as snacks) + FAT 2 tsp of EVCO. taken 1 tsp at a time before first two meals 2 tbs of butter taken 1 tbs at a time made in first two meals bacon fat added for extra flavor when/where needed + 17-20 ou (1 bottle of water) Electrolyte drink: I'm making it w/peppermint tea, 1 frozen lemon cube, 1 tsp of salt and approx 8-10 drops of stevia. I have it in the evening before, during and after the last meal. It's pretty good. + 1 enzyme supplement taken in the middle of each meal + start recording what I eat in FitDay to get an idea of nutrient ratios. Target = Fat: 156-219 / Protein: 63 / Carbs: 31-50 The big thing is eliminating bread, processed sugars, dairy and processed foods right from the start. I don't really eat a lot of these on a regular basis, just in moderation so it isn't too big of a stretch.. with the exception of processed sugars. I like those sweets IE) cookies and ice cream.. which is why I may add vit C w/the electrolyte drink mid week if I start craving. The food is mostly organic and I'm relying on the sea salt fairly generously. The bacon is also a transition brand. It's by Farmland, no nitrates, smoking or curing.. but there is definitely sugar in it. I don't like it as much as the regular (full additive) brands but it satisfies my craving and is a better alternative than ice cream. It's just day 2 and so far so good although a sub sandwich sure sounded good yesterday... and the people I live with invited me to ice cream last night. I didn't indulge though.. I came home and made something instead and just said no to the ice cream. It was tough. I'm trying to get a little creative with spices and veggies - I'm usually not a big fan of veggies. This week I'm going to begin a more complete journal-website w/recipes I dream up and details of what I'm experiencing. Once this is going I may post a link if Bee and/or moderators approve. I have been able to make some dietary changes for the better in the past but never to these levels of commitment. I'm a lifelong emotional eater who's struggled w/numerous weight issues.. all support and encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Hi , I've been on a the diet for about 1 month and I've already noticed my energy levels have improved and my sweet tooth is gone. I do still have brown rice cakes, millet , buckwheat and sprouted almonds but for the most part I am free of sugar, processed foods, breads, yeast, fruit and dairy. I know how you feel though, my boyfriend eats dessert everynight in front of me... Ice cream with berries and a huge pile of cool whip, oh and of course the chocolate syrup!!! I can sometimes look at it and feel nothing and other times wonder what it would taste like and then I remember it would feed my candida overgrowth and I would feel terrible in no time. So I don't eat it! I have to give you alot of credit for your journal of food ratios and your systematic way of eating! You have inspired me to go even deeper with the diet! Keep up the great work and let us know your progress..... ENJOY THE JOURNEY. Rose
Guest guest
Hi Rosemarie, Thanks for letting me know. I often feel like no one cares or is even paying attention so I don't see the point of posting anything here. Support from any of the usual places (family, friends or even strangers) isn't something that readily comes my way.. but then I'm sure we are all for the most part alone on our respective health quests and we learn to deal. I caved in a bit this week by having bread and ice cream.. but then I sorta justify it by telling myself it's only the first week and a transition so I should just keep up as many basics as possible and strive to do better tomorrow.. which is better than doing. More power to ya with the temptation of your bf's nightly dessert fix. That's definitely not fair. Does he know what you're trying to do? I'd be telling him to get out if he's going to keep that up. I hope you have a " salvation " food on hand. Right now mine is bacon, daily, and potatoes every few days - both better alternatives than ice cream I figure. It makes me feel like I'm not totally deprived. Take care!
