There are a few things you can do that will help you get through this. What you are experiencing are " die-off " symptoms, which are ways the body uses to get rid of toxins. So that is a good thing. Your body needs to get rid of those toxins, mainly from candida being killed off. Die-off symptoms, healing reactions, and detoxifying symptoms are all the same thing, called Herxheimer's Reactions - see this article to understand better: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal2.php Yes antibiotics are toxic/poisonous drugs and they will increase candida overgrowth. However there are many natural antibiotics and treatments to help you get through this in my article " Cold, Cough & Flu Treatments " , which includes natural antibiotics: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/colds.php Keep me posted on how you are doing, and the treatments that help. It makes sense that die-off should affect my lungs as the candida has affected my lungs for years. I have found the articles and I will follow the instructions carefully. I am so relieved to have found you and this group as I don't feel so alone with this any more, and your advice and experience is priceless. It is fantastic that you are putting all your knowledge in a book! love, Lesley.

Guest guest
Hi people, I hope you don't mind - I'm desperate!! My 20 month old som is going through his second chest infection in 8 weeks. Last time I tried to treat it with chicken stock and water and good quality butter. But after a few days I had to call the doctor who looked in his throat and said " Oh my God!! " . At which point I felt I had to get him antibiotics (which he had a reaction to involving an ambulance being called, and a second prescription for different antibiotcs). Now I really don't want to give him another dose on penicillan, but I am not putting him through severe tonsillitis again, and he is develping a wheeze that i don't like the sound of. Does anyone know what I can do at home to assist him immune system to get rid of this? He wont drink chicken stock. He is currently having 1 teaspoon of good cod liver oil, 1 tsp of organic butter (can't get grass fed at the moment), and plenty of water. I also gove him a good children's multi vitamin and mineral supplement. Anything powerful and natural that i can give him??? Thanks so much, I know it's not directly candida related, but i know a lot of you will have knowledge I need right now!!! Mel

Yes, there are a number of natural treatments that will help your dear son a lot! 1) Follow whatever treatments seem appropriate for your son in the article " Cold, Cough & Flu Treatments:; http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/colds.php NOTE: All doses are for adults and children 20 months old can take 1/3rd of an adult dose, except you can double up his dose of cod liver oil and butter while he is sick. I think the moisture treatments will help a great deal. When my grandson was 9 months old he had croup and could barely breathe. I ran a hot shower until it filled the bathroom with steam, and sat with him on my lap for about 15 minutes. I got him to breathe deeply by playing a game with him (mimic Grandma game). With 5 minutes he was already breathing easier and after 15 minutes he was greatly improved. After that Grandma's homemade chicken soup, good oils, vitamin C, vitamin A, D & E, etc. helped him recover without any antibiotics. 2) If you gave him commercial chicken stock, that wouldn't have helped him since it contains additives, etc., and that's possibly why he doesn't like it. It is best to make homemade Mineral-Rich Bone Broths - see this recipe: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/recipes/recipe21.php It will be much more nourishing, and he will probably like it too. 3) See if your son will take Bee's Raw Egg Drink: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/recipes/recipe167.php You can lower any amounts and still make it tasty. He might only need 1 egg and 1 teaspoon each of coconut oil and butter, along with lower amounts of spices, etc.: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/recipes/recipe167.php 4) While he is sick do not give him any sugars of any kind, including fruits. Concentrate on protein, " good " fats, and cooked or steamed vegetables. I hope that helps Mel. Keep us posted on how he does. The best, Bee
Guest guest
HI ALEX I think Thyroid problems are connected to chest infections. I suffered a lot as a youngster from ailing lungs, but picked up during secondary education. Unfortunatley my first job working with chickens did not help, as they put me inside with the chickens which they were not supposed to do. The job lasted two days, and I think the dust in the chicken houses caused it, but it felt like flu, and I do not know how I managed to ride my bike home. I refused to go back to that job and got an office job. I do not think it helped me to have a Father who smoked a lot. My marriage was a failure due to the fact that he drank a lot which affected his lungs and with children bringing home infections did not help either. In the end we were making each other ill. I also had to contend with temper tantrums which I could not take. I seperated from him in 2001 and divorced in 2009. I ended up this year with pneumonia after an overnight stay in hospital with a patient in the next bed who had a nasty chest infection. Having Hypothyroidism affects the immune system and you easily pick things up. I would also presume that with a lowered metabolic rate that infections take longer too to vacate from us, so more antibiotics that in turn pull one down. If you smoke or consume a lot of alcohol for goodness sake give it up. I never smoked or drank alcohol fortunatley. Guest guest
Are you taking any adrenal support , if so, increase this and also take high doses of vitamin C i.e. 4/5000mgs or at least, to bowel tolerance. This should help greatly. Luv - Sheila I have had two different antibiotics for a chest infection which started 3 weeks ago. The cough has mostly gone and am not coughing up much phlegm now, so I think the infection is cleared. Only problem is I feel very week, no energy and dont seem to be able to recover fully. Has anyone had similar experience? Is this all part and parcel of being hypo? xxx
Guest guest
I use wild oil of oregano for everything. I actually take one gel cap per day as a safety measure. This wild oil of oregano is organic and an excellent cure for anything that may require antibiotics. It also cures Candida. I do recommend this highly because it works. I do not ever recommend grapefruit seed extract because it is synthetic. There is a world of difference between the two. Wild oil of oregano has good amounts of zinc in it also, but absolutely no chemicals. http://www.oliveleaf.co.uk/acatalog/Super_Strength_Oreganol_60_gelcaps.html Cheers, JOT
