Guest guest
I was wondering if the HCI supplements are the reason I am having the lump/irritation in my throat and this is why: A little over a month ago when I started this program I did the stomach acid test to see if I needed to take digestive enzymes and I didn't belch at all. I am taking 5 HCI with every meal now. I never experience stomach irritation so I was even thinking of adding even more. About a week ago when I was swallowing one of the HCI pils and one of them got stuck in the back of my throat. I have been having a hard time swallowing them ever since. I have also noticed that I have had an increase in belching and burping which I never did before. This morning I did the stomach acid test again and I belched immediately, probably within the first 30 seconds or so. Does this mean I should cut back or stop taking the HCI? As I said I never experience stomach burning. Thanks. Sandy

What stomach acid test did you do? > > About a week ago when I was swallowing one of the HCI pils and one of them got stuck in the back of my throat. As I said I never experience stomach burning. +++It was unfortunate the HCl tablet got stuck, since it probably damaged your throat and esophagus, which cannot tolerate HCl. That's why HCl must always be in capsules or tablets. It may take awhile to heal them now. If you haven't experienced stomach burning you are probably taking the right amount of HCl. Belching and burping isn't necessarily related. It can be caused by swallowing more air or candida or other bugs being killed off in the stomach which produce gas, etc. The best, Bee

(Baking soda and water.) > +++It was unfortunate the HCl tablet got stuck, since it probably > damaged your throat and esophagus, which cannot tolerate HCl. I am having a harder and harder time swallowing them ever since. Maybe I should switch to a capsule. Can anyone recommend one? > If you haven't experienced stomach burning you are probably taking > the right amount of HCl. Belching and burping isn't necessarily > related. Thanks so much for all your help. Sandy

Where did you find it? > > > +++It was unfortunate the HCl tablet got stuck, since it probably > > damaged your throat and esophagus, which cannot tolerate HCl. > That's why HCl must always be in capsules or tablets. Also Natural Factors has one too. > > > If you haven't experienced stomach burning you are probably taking the right amount of HCl. Belching and burping isn't necessarily related. Thanks so much for all your help. +++If they keep getting stuck you should stop taking them; an alternative is to eat 1/2 cup of good sauerkraut with every meal. Also the Electrolyte Drink aids digestion, and using plenty of good spices on your foods. Luv, Bee

I tried the baking soda stomach test too. I can't remember which page I read it on, but it might have been the one called " How to take HCI " or something like that. Nothing happened when I tried the stomach acid test, but I have had peptic ulcers (although they are not flaring up now) so I was hesitant to try HCI but I am working on remembered to have saurkraut with my meals instead. Is there a more portable alternative for times I need to eat away from home? Thanks, Deserae

The top of the page says " Digestive Enzymes, How to Take Them " . I probably printed it before you deleted it. I'm not sure. I'm sorry. I will look into the HCI in capsule form. Thank you! It's not in the How To take HCl article. Thanks a bunch. > Nothing happened when I tried the stomach acid test, but I have had > peptic ulcers (although they are not flaring up now) so I was hesitant to try HCI but I am working on remembered to have saurkraut with my meals instead. Yes you printed it before I corrected it. The new article is here: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig5.php The reason I removed the acid test was because too many people were getting a positive test when it was obvious they lacked stomach acid. So the test wasn't helpful and mislead people into doing the wrong thing. Bee > > Thank you! > Sandy >

Sorry Bee, I found it in the first article I stumpled across here: Nourishedmagazine article, but not on your site. > +++Your best bet is to take Betaine HCl tablets when you can't have > sauerkraut. Guest guest
> How do I know if I am safe to take HCl tablets if I have had peptic > ulcers in the past? +++Hi Deserae. If you have no symptoms of peptic ulcers now, it is safe to take them. Peptic ulcers are caused by the stomach not producing enough HCl and bicarbonate of soda. For every molecule of HCl it produces it produces 1 molecule of baking soda too. Baking soda is very important because it protects the lining of the stomach from damage by the strong HCl. Therefore, if you get symptoms taking 1/4 tsp. of baking soda in water helps. Bee
