Guest guest
Hi group, My 4 month old has hydronephrosis (enlarged kidney) and so he has to get it checked out to see if there is a blockage or if it is caused by relfux from the bladder when he urinates. His next appointment he will get a bladder x-ray where they have to use a catheter and the doctor wants him to go on an antibiotic (primsol) before the appointment (about 1 week) because the catheter could expose him to an infection and he wouldn't want an infection to develop in the kidney. I have been on and off the diet in the past but have been strict with the diet and supplements for the past 2 weeks. Planning to start garlic next week to see how it goes. My question is: What steps can I take to help my son recover from being on an antibiotic and how will this will effect our progress? He is strictly breast fed at this point and I am going to start him on coconut oil and garlic feet rubs soon. I'm sure that he will have to be on the diet for longer now but I guess I just wanted some feedback. Also, does anyone know how long an antibiotic needs to be taken in order to be effective? I was thinking about just having him take the Primsol for 3 days before the appointment instead of 1 week but i'm not sure if that will be effective. Thanks for your comments Suzanne
