Your thyroid will go through some changes, up and down, which are nothing to be concerned about. There are many more toxins being circulated throughout the body because candida and other bacteria are being killed off, and other toxins are being removed. Toxins make the cell membranes stiff/rigid so the thyroid and other organs are less after to function, and hormones that are produced aren't able to get into the cells where they are needed. Also thyroid tests don't indicate what is going on in the cells themselves, so they aren't very accurate. Both thyroid and adrenal malfunction ares involved in many symptoms - see this article which has a chart of symptoms: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat19.php Also check out the kinds of thyroid tests Dr. Rind recommends so you can get a better picture of what is happening: here's the test section:http://www.drrind.com/thyroidscale.asp Dr. Rind also discusses thyroid meds. I was actually thinking of talking to my doctor about adding a T3 medicine to my Synthroid. Sandy

Then you will have a baseline to go by. In another 3 months you could get tested again, and over time your thyroid will normalize. Another member had TSH levels increase since starting on this program, so that tells me the body is doing a lot of self adjustment/rebalancing, etc. Bee > > Sandy >

He runs a complete thyroid panel on me every month. I will be tested again next week. Hopefully my levels will improve over the next three months. So if you were me, you would hold off in adding any T3 until then? (I'm only on Synthroid now). Thanks so much. This thyroid condition is so frustrating. The thyroid is only one of many important organs in the body that malfunction when you have candida, but more attention is given to the thyroid by doctors than to some other important organs, like the adrenals and liver. Wait until after your test next week, depending upon the results it may be important to also take natural thyroid instead of synthroid, or in combination with synthroid. I take both since I have no thyroid and my doctor put me on Synthroid for so long that my body had trouble with the conversions. Bee
Guest guest
I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but Sandy, T3 replacement meds are cytomel (which I take and have upped to give me an energy boost). Feeling like this is just awful. I researched this a lot today and found that low carb diet can lower your T3 levels. I don't know what to do. No wonder I haven't been able to lose anymore weight. Low T3 puts the brakes on your metabolism. If I incrrease my carb intake can I get my T3 levels back up naturally does anyone know? I've been taking cytomel, 5mcg 3x a day (up from only once a day) and it has done very little for me. What kind of carbs are you thinking? I can't stand feeling this way either, and in turn, my immune system slows down like mud and the yeast grows like mad! jessica

Any thyroid experts out there? I was going to get it from vegetables. What else can we get it from on this program? No grains, nuts, seeds, or dairy are allowed. Just meat, vegetables, butter, fat and eggs. I don't know what to do. I am so sorry that you feel so bad. It must be really hard on your family. I have run out of sympathy from mine. I guess sticking with me through benzo withdrawl was hard enough on them. Sandy

The question is: Are you going to treat your thyroid, which is out of whack because of candida, or cure candida (the cause)? You cannot cure your candida if you increase carbs, since candida feeds off of all carbs. However it is impractical to eliminate all carbs to cure candida, and it isn't necessary. Also you shouldn't rely on thyroid tests because they cannot and do not test what is going on inside your cells. So you can do whatever it takes to increase your thyroid levels OR continue on the candida program and cure your candida, which will normalize your thyroid. Here's a Success Story about thyroid, to give you encouragement: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/ss1a.php Did you know that I lost my thyroid due to over-medicating when I had candida? Actually my medication levels were low, and I took natural dessicated thyroid, and I also took iodine supplements. After about 1 1/2 years on the candida program my thyroid went into a tizzy. At some point it went from very low to extremely high, called Grave's Disease. I had instinctively stopped the meds about 2 months before finding this out. But you know more about it than I did back then. So you can keep on top of it, by knowing when you must lower and/or stop thyroid meds according to your symptoms, and by getting tested once a month.
