A Series of Accidents Produces Great Tasting Coconut Oil!

While reading the messages on this board, I was struck at the number

of people who cannot stomach the taste of coconut oil, so I thought I

would share a discovery I made.

I really like coconut oil, and have been using it for years. I guess

that is why going full-tilt on Bee's fat reccommendations was not

hard for me, since this particular thing was not a big change for

me. My favorite is Wilderness Family Naturals extra virgin

centrifugal coconut oil. This is a strong flavored oil that tastes

like coconut.

Well, the last time I ordered oil, I accidentally ordered the

expeller pressed variety. This one has no odor or flavor. I didn't

notice the mistake, but kept thinking that the oil was unusually

mild. The gallon was half used before I realized that I had ordered

the wrong thing. I found that the milder flavor worked better for

some things, and my family likes it better.

Then, while cooking the other day, I was about to take my tablespoon

of oil, when I accidentally dropped a little Celtic Sea Salt into the

coconut oil. I ate it anyway, thinking that the small amount of salt

was also a healthy thing to eat. BOY!!! Was it ever tasty! It kind

of reminded me of movie theatre popcorn that I remember from my

youth! So yummy - it really made the dose of fat go down well.

Anyway, I will probably go back to the centrifugal coconut oil, since

I actually like it, but will always keep some of the milder oil on

hand for use in some things. I find that the salted oil is tasty on

veggies, or as a sauce on meat.

If you are having trouble stomaching the coconut oil on this diet,

you might tolerate it better if you add a very tiny amount of Celtic

Sea Salt. Try it and see if this helps!
