Guest guest
> Wow, > > Turkey jerky $16.00 a pound? There is a meat market in Lakewood (south Tacoma) that has turkey jerky for $9.95 per pound. Good, soft and easy to eat. Guest guest
There is a place somewhere south of Fort lewis that supposedly has the best jerky in the nW, i have heard of people driving down from Canada to resupply. I can't recall the name, I have never been there. Commercial jerky is often salty, I keep taking a diuretic and so don't worry about the salt. I do like Oberto's jerky as much of it is made from whole meat rather than being extruded with various binders. Does anybody here remember the product " Brown 29 " mentioned in THE GROOVE TUBE? Guest guest
Diane: Have you ever made your own jerky? I am learning how this week. One of my friends is going to show me how. All you need is about 10 pounds of sliced rump roast some kitchen bouquet or soy sauce, & a little liquid smoke. I think I may put pineapple juice in mine. Then it is into the dehydrator for about 8 hours or so. I'll then seal it into packs and freeze it until I want it. I'll let you know how it turns out. > I will eat Oberto beef jerky.
