Guest guest
I would like to know the name of the PT. I asked Mark today (my PT) and he wasn't sure who used yoga. Maybe I could work with her for awhile. Peggy [ ] Re: anniversary Peggy,Happy Anniversary! I guess that also means this is our one year anniversary from our first retreat week?I hope you have a fantastic time with your daughter and hope that you get to have more fun than just sitting in the car all day...but hey, if thats all you get...its better than last year, right?I know you are a lot younger, and probably more flexible than me...but I bet you will find any yoga quite challenging at first. I think I must have been around 18 months when I tried it and I felt like a board. If there is any way you can work with Ellen Kiley I would recommend it. She certainy understands the sublties of our spines since she has the same fusion. The other thought would be the PT right in your area who was going to come to the retreat and do yoga with us (she had to cancel at the last minute due to a death in her family) She actually teaches other PT's how to use yoga in their practices and I got the sense that she would understand us very well. Let me know if you want her information. If Ellen can't come next May I plan to see if we can arrange a workshop with her again.Take Care, Cam

Guest guest
Hi all I have been away on holiday for the last three weeks and actually out of email contact so have missed the discussions - decided when I could not get them on my Blackberry not to follow up which was liberating but now I have to sort so many! Look forward to seeing the school nurse document Diane and as you suggest, I am sure all will be transferable from the health visiting work through to school nursing just with the proviso that school nurses work with mainly young people directly and not through parents. The leadership work shows clearly the similarities and the differences and that they are very comparable professions when allowed to be. So the NMC in their work need to be clear that they are looking at school nursing as an entity with health visiting and not as two very different professions. In terms of your comments about the Anniversary for me it is the need to see health visiting and school nursing as multi faceted professions working across health and prevention and not as specific roles with young babies, children, and young people. It is so clear to me that both professions need people with a wide range of skills and importantly excellent interpersonal skills and intuitive professional judgement if the work is to be undertaken effectively. Be interesting to see what the NMC comes up with and how much they enable people like us and SENATE to be involved. And excellent news about Viv - that was very pleasing to hear. Guest guest
Dear Margaret, It's good too have you back. The school nurse work will be published very soon and it does match your recommendations. Viv will be presenting it with a Foreword. The work is impressive. It is a sophisticated commissioning model and will be a guide for commissioning in England. At the moment, it is simply being "fine tuned" before publication. The detail will be very helpful to commissioning bodies. The Professional Lead for the Department is Nicholson and the document includes valuable insights from children and young people about their wishes, needs, and perceptions of school nursing. I'll let Senate know the publication date unless it is publicly announced before I get back to you.
