Little was attending a wedding for the first time.

As she sat in the church, she watched the bride slowly

approach the altar. whispered to her mother,

" Why is the bride dressed in white? "

" Because white is the color of happiness, and today

is the happiest day of her life, " her mother tried to

explain, keeping it simple.

The child thought about this for a moment, then said....

" So why is the groom wearing black? "

You've been on the prednisone for awhile now haven't you? I was on it 3 years and had to get off, and wasn't that big of a help, so went on Methotrexate, and Plaquanil, was able to get off the Prednisone, not that combination is not longer working?????

always smiting right, blessings, Marla

I am on methotrexate, prednisone, arava, folic acid, tramoldol and tylenol.

Ron, I don't mean to bother you but may I ask you a

question. Something very different has been happening

to me lately and it has got me a little worried. Like

I have talked about before I have systemic sarcoid.

About (2) mths ago about a 6 inch stretch of my lumbar

spine started multiple snapping when I move from side

to side and hurting, and there is a place between my

shoulder blades that is also painful and places on my

back that are either numb or burn like fire if you

touch them. The lower back seems to be getting worse

and worse and I am having trouble holding my 7 mth old

granddaughter or much or anything, & I am losing more

and more feeling in my feet. When you say you started

having problems that progressed, is this what you were

talking about, is this spinal sarcoid. I have it in

the lungs, bronchial tubes, heart, possibly the brain,

skin, joints, mouth, I don't know why I would think it

would leave my spine alone....Thanks Ron....Connie

Hey, me too! The joke at work is 'what's that noise? Oh, that's just Karla, tripping over herself again. I'm always on the floor and I walk with a crutch!

I know it's really hard for a lot of people to understand, especially our kids, the other night we were watching TV, I was leaning against the island in the kitchen, and some old Rock and Roll music came on, it was the twist, and I started doing the twist, now mind you I never took one step in any way, just started moving my hips, My son says, well Mom if you can dance you can walk with out a cane, I said, hey I never took a step, he's like " so " , so they just don't get it. :) Marla

LOL! That is too funny! I'm sitting here laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes. My son is sitting here reading it with me, because he doesn't quite understand the disease.

I completely understand that. It's not just my kids, it's my husband, too. They think that just because my facial palsy is starting to go away that my NS is going away, too. It's so hard for me to explain to them exactly what's going on. I wish they (mostly my husband) would read about NS so they could understand me better. My stepson tells all of his friends "oh she's having pain all over because she has a brain disease and she's dying". So, I try to explain it to them the best I can, but sometimes I don't even understand. How can you explain something you don't really understand yourself? Since my doctors are limited with their own knowledge, I get most of my information from reading it on the net. Christy,

There is a book by a girl with MS called Coffee in My Cereal. Even

though she has MS, it is a good read because there is a phrase in there

" but you look so good " . Sick people are supposed to look sick, right?

We don't do we? My husband gets mad sometimes because I might as the

same thing over and over and I finally remind him that I wouldn't ask if

I had remembered that I said it. We all go through this crap in some

form or another so don't feel alone.

Take care of yourself
